Local Branches are extensions of the Society. They may be created by any five or more members in a given geographic area, and are empowered to further promote the aims of the Society on the ground. No additional dues are required to join or to create a branch. Members may be listed as a member of their branch or may choose to affiliate with the Society as a whole. Each Branch bears their own heraldic badge set upon the console of the Society, which is in turn based upon the badge of the Society. Local Branches are free to hold events, lectures, public outreach programs, and more. Branches host our Symposium and Annual Meeting on rotation each year. For more information on our existing Branches or how to charter your own with other members in your area, please see below. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In January of 2024 the Board of Governors Announced the adoption of a bylaws amendment, which formally outlined the process and requirements for the creation of local branches of the Society. Four Branches were initially chartered by Society Members: Great Lakes, New England, Potomac, and Tennessee Valley. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presently there are four Branches Provisional,<\/em> clusters of Members who are actively working to create a new Branch. If you are in one of these areas and would like to join them, please contact their coordinator. If you would like to see a new Branch in your area please contact the Board of Governors to inquire further about the process. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

They will be hosting our official Society presence at the 36th International Congress of Genealogical and Heraldic Sciences in Boston this September.
