Our Mission<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Heraldry is a vibrant part of American life. From its medieval origins it came to our country with the first European settlers, was used and appreciated by Revolutionary patriots, and continues to flourish today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The American Heraldry Society was founded to study and promote the proper use of heraldry in America. The Society seeks to educate the American public about the art and practices related to personal and organizational heraldry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ICMS 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The American Heraldry Society will be sponsoring a session at the upcoming International Congress on Medieval Studies, to be held May 14-16 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our session is entitled “Visual Identity through Heraldry and Other Devices int the Middle Ages”. Abstract submissions of no more than 300 words will be accepted through September 15th via the ICMS Confex Portal.
